Why should I substitute my original radiator for a Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator?
Engine overheating - Mishimoto Aluminum Radiators provide an added level of cooling capacity that stock radiators cannot delivery. This maximizes your engine’s efficiency and keeps your engine cool throughout the hottest conditions.
Appearance – Mishimoto Radiators come with a polished finish and high quality welds that enhance the appearance of your engine bay.
What type of finish is applied to Mishimoto Radiators?
The end and coolant tanks on all Mishimoto Radiators come in a polished chrome finish.
Will Mishimoto Radiators fit my OEM vehicle application?
Mishimoto Radiators are designed for a direct fit on OEM applications to upgrade the cooling system.
How many cores do Mishimoto Radiators have?
Mishimoto Radiators vary from single, dual, or triple core, depending on the application.
Will Mishimoto Radiators work with my automatic transmission?
Unless stated, all Mishimoto models are designed for manual transmission vehicles. Although, many automatic vehicles can use a Mishimoto Radiator with the simple addition of a Universal Mishimoto Transmission Cooler Kit.
How do I know if a Mishimoto Radiator is cooling my vehicle properly?
Before installing your Mishimoto Radiator you will need to know your car’s current engine operating temperature while idle and at highway speed. Most users report a 20-40 degree reduction in temperature from their baseline readings.
How does the price of a Mishimoto Radiator compare to that of other performance radiators?
Mishimoto Radiators are significantly more affordable than their competitors. Despite this lower price point, you can be confident knowing that each Mishimoto Radiator is carefully crafted with very high quality standards and pressure tested twice for maximum reliability.
What makes Mishimoto radiators perform better than the OEM cooling system?
1.) Mishimoto Radiators are made with two or three rows of high-quality aluminum and cooling fins that are designed for maximum heat dissipation. The coolant tubes on each radiator have a greater surface area for improved cooling over the stock OEM radiator. Mishimoto Radiators also have more coolant capacity than OEM applications.
2.) Mishimoto Radiators are crafted of high-quality aluminum which allows all parts of the radiator, including the tanks, to dissipate heat.
Why does Mishimoto recommend electronic cooling fans?
Mishimoto electric fans offer you a slimmer and more efficient cooling source as compared to OEM fans. Electric fans move more cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air than standard engine driven (mechanical) fans that come on most vehicles. At idle and low speeds a mechanical fan slows down as the engine’s rpm decreases. This causes a reduction in airflow. In comparison, electric fans maintain a consistent speed regardless of the engine’s rpm which increases cooling at idle and low speeds. Benefits of Mishimoto electric fans are often seen in cars with added horsepower.
How do you properly mount an electric fan?
1.) Mishimoto offers fan shrouds for certain vehicles and we also have universal fan mount kits with online installation guides for your reference.
2.) Use a fan wiring kit and a brass sensor for your water coolant temperature, you can wire a relay to turn the fan on at 195 degrees and off at 175 or use an adjustable fan wiring kit.
Should I mount my electric fan in front of or behind the radiator?
If space permits, it is always better to have your fan operate as a puller by mounting it on the water pump side of the radiator. A puller electric fan is approximately 15% more efficient than a pusher electric fan.
Are Mishimoto Radiators epoxy-free?
Mishimoto Radiators cores are made with controlled atmosphere brazing and leak tested twice to guarantee an excellent tube to header bond. This eliminates the need for any epoxy.
What grade of aluminum is used in a Mishimoto Radiator?
Every Mishimoto Radiator is constructed out of carefully processed aircraft-quality aluminum.
How thick are the coolant tank walls on Mishimoto Radiators?
The coolant tank walls are approximately 2mm thick.
How thick are Mishimoto Radiator cores?
The core size for each Mishimoto Radiator varies by vehicle application. Product details are available online.
Do Mishimoto Radiators come with caps?
Yes. All Mishimoto Radiators come with a Mishimoto Radiator Cap, unless the radiator does not use a radiator cap.
Does Mishimoto use billet filler necks? Why?
Yes. CNC precision machined billet filler necks are installed on the filler necks to seal better and improve the look over cast or stamped filler necks. Tolerances are held closer and fabrication is improved. This virtually eliminates any neck to tank leaks. The billet filler neck also has a larger overflow tube for increased coolant flow to the recovery tank.
How many fins per inch are used in Mishimoto Radiators?
There are approximately 7.25 fins per inch on every Mishimoto Radiator
What sized coolant tubes are used in Mishimoto Radiators?
Mishimoto Radiators use many different sized cooling tubes depending on the application. Each tube wall is .32mm thick.
