Russ Taylor has a purpose for building his 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X, which was to do write ups and reviews on every stage of the build process in his publication magazine that distributes in Southern California high schools and colleges. It’s his way of getting younger generations interested in the automotive industry. He hopes they will become fascinated and inspired to learn and build something of their own, rather than getting involved in activities that could potentially harm themselves or society.
The Evolution X build has been a progressive process due to limitations on funding but despite the fact, Russ’s project is coming along nicely. The work is taking place at Synapse Engineering and various other facilities, so far the modifications include, a turbo back exhaust, cold air intake, suspension work, Mishimoto performance radiator, and a re-flashed ECU. Synapse has developed a set of upper and lower intercooler piping bases that will be in production soon. Future plans include an additional set of Synapse intercooler pipes and a Synapse blow off valve.
