Angelo Ilao of San Diego, California has been “modifying” cars since he was a little kid, taking tiny Matchbox cars and trying to replicate the cars he saw in magazines. His first opportunity to work on life size cars came when he moved to the Island of Guam where he met his “First Family”, Guaranteed Auto Club where he learned body work and custom paint. After leaving Guam, Angelo joined the Navy and moved to California, where he bought his first “old skool” 1988 300zx. Angelo’s love for Nissans grew from that point on.
In 2003 the Nissan 350z was released, he instantly knew he had to have one, and purchased one of the first models on the market. As time went by, the 350z gained tremendous popularity; Angelo noticed they were starting to look the same. This inspired him to personalize his 350z, by changing the style and performance.
All the work took place at HighEnd Performance in San Diego. Robin Bautista, a good friend of Angelo’s provided all the parts and Angelo did most of the labor, with the help from some of the guys at HighEnd. The project build only took about two and a half weeks to complete.
Angelo plans to take his 350z to the track, which was his original purpose for building the car.
