WORLD Racing and Round 4 of the Global Time Attack

Now with the chaos of SEMA, NASA SoCal time trials, and the Super Lap Battle behind them, it was time for WORLD Racing and the Team Need for Speed Scion tC to take the final round of the Global Time Attack by storm at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.

There was a lot of work to do to get ready for the event. Some technical kinks needed to be worked out from the Super Lap Battle, but the team had plenty of time because of the weather conditions. When it was finally time to get out there and show the world who’s boss, Chris Rado started #2 behind Tyler McQuarrie and his FXMD NSX. WORLD Racing set a new course record with Rado’s lap time of 1:45.320. Right after crossing the finish line, however, the Fwing 2.0 started to smoke. Unfortunately, after pulling some data in the pit, the bad news came: The Fwing 2.0 had minor engine failure, and Global Time Attack was done for WORLD Racing. “We knew there was something we needed to change on the cylinder head in order to fix this issue, but it wasn’t something we could have done before the race, … so, we did what we could to make them last and will render a new solution in the off-season,” said Gary Kubo. Despite the minor engine problem, Rado still came out number 1 with the new course record!

Mishimoto is very proud to have kept WORLD Racing cool during its 2011 season, and we are just as excited to be right there with them for 2012. See you soon!
