Righteous Pipes - 2017-2020 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost/Raptor Turbo Inlet Tube kit Production Sample and Test Results

After ten years, it's not much of a surprise that the 3.5L EcoBoost is still sitting at the top of the F-150 food chain. These trucks pack gobs of power with plenty of potential for more right off of the factory floor. But, with big power comes big responsibility, and it's crucial to solidify your twin-turbo V6 to reach maximum potential. We've already overhauled the F-150's intake - now it's time to wrap up the inlet pipes.

Designing intake components is always a delicate balance between fit and function. On the one hand, we want to engineer these inlet pipes for maximum flow. But, on the other hand, they still need to fit in the truck. With this in mind, our engineer, Ye, reached an equilibrium thanks to the use of rotational molded construction. This method gives Ye more freedom in the design phase when snaking our new inlet pipes through the intricacies of the Raptor's engine bay.

Several initial designs were drafted, but after plenty of prototyping and preliminary testing, only one set of tubes fit the bill

When we last left off, our tubes were merely 3D prints. Now, however, we can take a closer look at our freshly-molded final production units. Fashioned from cross-linked polyethylene, these inlet tubes are ready for battle. The thick walls and robust plastic construction repel engine bay heat and are better suited for repeated cycles of increased charge-air pressure than their stock counterparts.

To further improve the tubes' durability, we swapped out all of the driver side tube's quick-disconnect fittings with a set of sturdy CNC-machined aluminum units.

These tubes are much more than a tough exterior. The slick inner surface, combined with the 61% total increase in internal volume, makes our kit a free-flowing channel to the F-150's turbos. Specifically, this combination of improvements reduces restriction through the inlet tubes by up to 23%, allowing for more power potential down the line.

A decade ago, the thought of upstaging the V8 F-150 was laughable. But, ten years later, the EcoBoost reigns supreme and is still hungry for more power. The turbo inlet tubes were the last obstacle standing in the 3.5L EcoBoost's way. With a durable shell and a slick interior, these tubes are more than ready for your commute, the job site, or the trails. Get yours today:
