The 6.4L Powerstroke has a known weak spot: the factory radiator uses plastic tanks that crack and leak over time. Heat, pressure, and the constant stress of towing wear them down fast. On top of that, the factory front-end structure flexes more than it should, which puts even more strain on the cooling system. The Mishimoto Essentials Backbone Protection Bundle fixes all of that in one shot.

The aluminum radiator swaps out the factory plastic-tank unit for a fully brazed aluminum core with TIG-welded end tanks. The tubes inside are reinforced with internal struts to handle the heat and pressure of the 6.4L. Co-molded aluminum and rubber mounting pegs keep the radiator from taking on stress from the frame. A magnetic drain plug is also included to catch metal particles before they can do damage.

The upper support bar stiffens up the front end with heavy-duty steel and cast-steel anchor points. Less flex up front means less stress on every hose, fitting, and tank in the cooling system.

The silicone body mounts round out the bundle by fixing the root of the problem. Factory rubber mounts crack and sag after years of heat and heavy loads, which throws off cab alignment and lets vibration travel straight into your cooling parts. The Mishimoto six-bushing silicone set brings the cab back into alignment, soaks up that vibration, and won't harden or squeak like rubber does. Dual-coated steel cups and Dacromet hardware fight corrosion, and the captured-nut design means you can do the install yourself without a second person holding a wrench underneath.
