Why do you race? It's the most fun thing you can do with your clothes on.What do you think of your racing career? I think I've come a long way from starting drifting 3 years ago to being on the verge of professional Formula D level driving. I hope to become a top pro driver in the coming years.
What does the start of your day entail? Getting up at 6:30am and going to work as a programmer so I can pay for drifting!
How much time do you dedicate to practice between events? I try to go to as many practice events as possible, but this year I'm focused almost fully on competition driving. I compete almost every weekend, and that doesn't leave much time for practice when you consider the maintenance and improvements on the car that need to be done between competitions.
What do you do to stay in shape during the season? Stationary bike every day and sit in a 140 degree drift car on the weekends!
Where do you practice when at home? My home track Englishtown, NJ.
Any funny road trip stories from your career? Plenty. Driving cross country to California 45 hours straight, yelling at fellow motorists with a megaphone, going into drive-thrus with a truck/trailer/drift car, the list goes on.
Who do you look up to in your sport and why? Almost everyone in Formula Drift. There's something I can learn from every driver.
Is there any other sport you actively participate in? Not really. Between drifting and having a full time job, that doesn't leave time for much else.
Are there any sponsors or specific people out there you would like to thank for helping you get to the races? Mishimoto of course for being my biggest supporter and for giving me all the cooling parts that have made my car so reliable throughout the years. A few other sponsors like Carbon Creations, DuraFlex, and Serious Graphix have helped me out this year to make my success possible.
If you were trapped on a deserted island and could only bring one movie and one CD, what would they be? Days of Thunder. Haha. Best racing movie ever.
What would be on the plate of your last meal ever? Mochi.
Favorite video game? Hmm. I don't really play video games but I guess I could say Need for Speed Underground. That's where I learned what drifting was for the first time!
Your biggest pet peeve(s)? People that talk a lot and don't do a lot. Don't talk about it, be about it.
What celebrity would you most like to be your wife and why? I can't answer that. My girlfriend will read this!
What music do you listen to? Hmm. Anything that's playing. My MP3 player currently has a lot of J-Rock on it.
If you could pick one song to describe your life, what would it be? Billionaire – Travie McCoy. Haha.
One item you never leave the house without. Pants.
Favorite sports team? Yankees.
What’s one thing you loved as a child but hate as an adult? Fatty food.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time? Watch movies. I love movies but never have the time for it.
