Mishimoto Driver Quoc Ly Places 2nd Overall at Irwindale

Results are in for the first round of Xtreme Drift Circuit (XDC) that took place at the Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, CA this past weekend. The overall results put Canadian drifter Dave Briggs in first, followed by Mishimoto sponsored driver Quoc Ly in second, and Jeff Jones rounded out the podium finishers taking the bronze. During the top 16 qualifiers, two Mishimoto sponsored drivers stood in the top ten, with drifting veteran Alex Pfeiffer at the top of the list in first, and Quoc Ly in 8th. Mishimoto sponsored driver Mark Manansala was also a competitor at the Irwindale event. XDC is working with the Formula Drift Pro Championship, and will be granting a 2011 Formula Drift Pro Championship license to each of the top 3 placers at the XDC National Championship. Winners from each of the six events in the series get $3,000 and a spot in the Pro/Am Nationals at the end of the season.

The next event in the series is going to be at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada, on Saturday May 22nd, from 11 am to 7 pm. This will be the first time drifting will take place on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway road course. According to the XDC official site, the day long event will also feature Timed Lap Battles, XDC Car Show, Model Search, and Stage Entertainment.
