DRIVER INTERVIEW

Why do you race? I race because it is something that I grew up watching and always aspired to do. I was hooked after the first time my dad took me for a ride.

What do you think of your racing career? I have been very fortunate with how my racing career has progressed. There have been many people that have helped me along the way and without them I would not be able to accomplish the things I have in my racing career so far.

What does the start of your day entail? The start of my typical day is usually catching the bus to campus. I am a student at Auburn University, studying Mechanical Engineering. It’s a bit of a hectic schedule when school is mixed with racing. Lots of early mornings and late nights.

How much time do you dedicate to practice between events? One of the struggles with being a student-athlete is it really cuts down on my practice time in between events. Most of the time the day before the event is the first time I have driven the race car since stepping out of it at the last event.

What do you do to stay in shape during the season? Lucky enough for me, Auburn has a pretty large campus. Biking to class and running in my spare time has been my way of staying in shape.

Where do you practice when at home? Unfortunately, Dirt3 is my only way to practice at home.

Any funny road trip stories from your career? Eh not really, it’s nice having things going to plan.

Who do you look up to in your sport and why? My Dad has been a huge part in my racing career. I grew up watching him winning races, so I tried to pick up as much information as possible from watching him. Without his help and teaching, I would not be where I am today.

Is there any other sport you actively participate in? I have played soccer since I was 4. Although I don’t play nearly as much as I used to, I sometimes go out to the fields to play a bit.

Are there any sponsors or specific people out there you would like to thank for helping you get to the races? Without these people, my racing career would not be possible. I can’t thank them enough: My Family, Atlanta Activewear, Cyril Kearney, Neil McDaid, and Tom Lawless. They have stuck behind me since the beginning and helped me in so many different ways.

If you were trapped on a deserted island and could only bring one movie and one CD, what would they be? The Italian Job and a CD with my iTunes top 10(I know that's cheating).

What would be on the plate of your last meal ever? Mac and Cheese!

Favorite video game? Dirt3!

Your biggest pet peeve(s)? Slow Walkers.

What celebrity would you most like to be your wife and why? It changes weekly, but this week, Julianne Hough...

What music do you listen to? *All different types(Country, 90’s, Dubstep).

If you could pick one song to describe your life, what would it be? My life is more like a mixtape rather than a single song.

One item you never leave the house without. My iPhone, I don’t know how people live without them.

Favorite sports team? Manchester United.

What’s one thing you loved as a child but hate as an adult? Doctors Offices.

What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time? Relaxing with friends. With me being gone from school on so many weekend during race season, I like just being able to hang out and not have a schedule.
