One of the worst parts of assembling PTFE (Teflon) AN line is getting stabbed by the steel braid as you try to pry it back and install the olive or ferule. If you’ve ever caught a piece of steel braid under your thumbnail, you know how awful this can be. This Mishimoto AN line braid spreader allows you to quickly and easily open the braid on AN line sizes from -3 to -8AN without risk of piercing the inner lining, or your fingers. This tool can also be used to reshape the PTFE inner liner if it’s out of round from cutting, as well as push the ferule or olive onto the inner liner, making hose assembly fast and easy.
The Mishimoto AN line braid spreader features a lightweight anodized aluminum body to prevent fatigue while assembling multiple lines. The hollow body can also be used to store additional ferules/olives for future use. The polished stainless-steel insert reduces friction and won’t scratch ferules or PTFE lining.
