Product Description
The Mishimoto Pro Axleback system replaces the standard factory suitcase muffler with two high-flowing mufflers, putting that extra punch back into your Camaro's exhaust tone. These mufflers are equipped with Helmholtz resonators, meaning that the extra volume doesn't come at the cost of deafening highway drone. The Mishimoto Quad Tip Pro Axleback Performance Exhaust system is constructed from 304 stainless steel and is available with the option of polished or black tips. As always, this kit also includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

The last piece of this puzzle has finally fallen into place. Finishing off our offerings for the 2016+ Chevy Camaro SS exhaust systems lands us here with our Race Axleback. The SS has an unmistakable sound, and it's a sound we don't want to stray far away from - we only want to enhance it in the most robust way possible, and I feel that the engineers have done just that.
I'll make this simple - this exhaust is mean.
It's a mix of a modern sounding V8 with the raspy aggressive tone of a certain 1970's-era machine that was made of steel, had belt-buckle seat belts and a bad attitude. Hello everyone! You may remember from our previous 2016 Camaro SS Exhaust post that we have decided to move forward with five different systems for this car. It is my pleasure to let you know that all our Camaro exhaust prototypes have been completed. We've been busy testing and re-testing for fitment, sound, durability, and performance - and fun, of course. Our on-road testing process usually begins a little something like this:
Rob, the project manager: "Hey Gardiner, I need you to take the SS home tonight to put some miles on the pro system."
Me: "Ugh, if you insist."
They really have to twist my arm.
Our Mishimoto chefs have been very busy in our R&D kitchen, cooking up some wonderful 2016 Camaro exhaust prototypes with our 3D-modeling CAD software. Using nothing short of the finest ingredients, they have created a suite of 2016 Camaro SS exhaust options that are so delicious, Guy Fieri's mouth would surely be watering at the sight - though I'm sure he'd be even more tantalized if these were compatible with the first-gen Camaro!

Greetings, Camaro enthusiasts, and welcome to Part 2 of the Mishimoto R&D blog series on our 2016 Camaro SS Exhaust! As you may remember, we took a gander last time at the OEM exhaust, paying special attention to some of the really cool design features that make this system unique. One feature has emerged as a real point of contention and has become so hotly debated, that I wouldn't be surprised to hear about it on the next CNN Presidential Town Hall. I am referring, of course, to the crimped section of piping near the rear axles.
For those of you not in the know, a variety of theories exist about the function of this design, and there is some uncertainty as to what its implications on power output might be.
Well, we are here to put an end to the confusion. In the name of science, we have dyno tested the car with the ONLY changed variable being the presence or absence of the crimped section. Before I get to the results,
As much as we like to keep things cool here at Mishimoto, we couldn't keep ourselves away from the exhaust system once we got our hands on the hot new 2016 Camaro SS. This is a very impressive car, but we have a few ideas on how to make it even better.
Now let's give credit where credit is due; GM did pretty well on this one, and even the stock 2016 Camaro exhaust took our breath away. It sounds absolutely sublime, and I'm sure you will all agree after giving it a listen.
But once our engineers picked their jaws up off the floor and stopped doing burnouts in the parking lot, they told us that we weren't the only ones having breathing problems after hearing that monstrous 2016 Camaro exhaust. In fact, they told us that the exhaust might make it hard for that glorious LT1 to breathe too! Fortunately, this ailing patient came to the right doctors; our team reckons they can make some improvements to help this
