If you ask most drivers what the heart of their vehicle is, they'll likely say the engine. The engine provides power and is often the most advertised part of the powertrain, but it's not alone. In fact, if you ask somebody who tows heavy loads, they might say the heart of their car or truck is the transmission. A vehicle's transmission is responsible for delivering all the power the engine makes to the wheels, and its success or failure in that role can make or break the vehicle, especially when towing. Few drivers know the importance of a well-designed transmission better than owners of 6.7L Cummins-powered RAM trucks and the engineers at Mishimoto.

We also know that it doesn't matter how well-designed a transmission is if you can't keep it cool. Over the years, we've developed transmission coolers for nearly every iteration of Cummins-powered RAM; now, it's time to apply that experience to one of the latest generations with a performance transmission cooler for the 2015-2018 6.7L

Every truck owner knows it doesn't matter how powerful or reliable your engine is if you can't get any power to the wheels. If the engine is the heart of the drivetrain, the transmission is its backbone, holding it all together and letting the power flow to the wheels. The transmission mated to your 2001-2010 LB7, LLY, LBZ, or LMM 6.6L Duramax is essential to everything your truck does, and keeping it cool is crucial.

Upgrading your transmission cooler with a Mishimoto performance cooler is a good start, but the fluid still needs to get to the cooler. The stock Duramax transmission cooler lines are fine enough for a new, stock truck, but over time the stock hard lines can begin to degrade.

The latest Coyote received a bump in power by way of overhauling the fuel system, but when it comes to cooling the oil, it could still use some improvements. Luckily for us, Ford's fueling updates didn't mean a significant change to the overall design of the engine, which means that we didn't need to run a complete re-test of our oil cooler. The BMW and Toyota (mostly BMW) engineering tag-team meant business when it came to keeping the Supra's B58 cool. Not only did they incorporate a 4-phase system to make efficient use of the cooling system, but they also included 3 radiators to maximize the power of the coolant.
